Brand Planner

Concrete is looking for Brand Planners to join our team. We’re looking for talented, confident, hard working problem solvers that thrives in a creative environment. You are both creative and strategic, with the ability to produce award-winning creative projects, think strategically and out-of-the-box, and manage a roster of accounts and clients.

This role works with our art directors and designers to bring creative concepts to life for some of the world’s best brands at one of the top branding agencies in North America.

As a member of the planning team, the Brand Planner is responsible for drawing insightful conclusions from the client and the brand to create strategic platforms, develop creative and execute campaigns that will break through the clutter. We are looking for someone who is passionate about brands, devours culture and is tuned into what’s happening now and what’s going to be next.

Primary Responsibilities

– Develop, manage, and track a wide array of multi-faceted creative projects from initial pitching, concepts through to completion, ensuring quality assurance and execution at the highest standard at every step of the process
– Collaborate with the creative teams to conceptualize a creative solution that will drive business. This includes conducting research and analysis, information gathering, writing briefs and proposals, developing pitch presentations, assembling team members, defining roles, creating timelines and budgets.
– Build, strengthen and grow client relationships, identify opportunities for organic growth and project extensions, and overall manage new business development opportunities under the guidance of the team leads, representing Concrete at every step of the way.
– Measure and manage the performance health of projects and clients.
– Track progress, hours, and schedules against the agreed project timeline and budget, manage invoicing, work with our Finance team to ensure all accounts are in good standing
– Manage internal and external resources to ensure each project has the right staffing, determine any staffing requirements with trafficking teams
– Contribute to a positive, creative work culture that is driven by collaboration to produce world-class creative solutions

Qualifications

– 3-5 years of account/planning experience within an agency or creative environment
– Demonstrated ability to solve creative problems that could encompass visual identity, naming, advertising, package design, websites, environments, digital and print content, experiential, events
– Experience in brand positioning, brand building and brand stewardship is a big asset
– Experience in conducting market research and information gathering to uncover insights about a brand and lend input into creative decisions
– Experience in effectively expressing opinions and points-of-view that provide researched insights into the project without being shy about it
– Strategic thinker with proven client presentation skills
– Excellent oral and written communication skills
– Bachelors’ degree in Marketing, Communications or equivalent

Production Designer

Concrete is looking for a Production Designer to join our team. This role works with our art directors and designers to bring creative concepts to life at one of the top branding agencies in North America.

In the creative process, the final stages of execution is often where success is defined – we strongly believe that the details matter. They can make or break creative ideas.

We’re looking for a talented, confident, hard working problem solver that thrives in a collaborative environment.  You work well under pressure and are solution-oriented to help support our Creative and Accounts teams execute and expedite award-winning creative projects.

The Role

A successful Production Designer must possess a mix of both creative and technical skills. You must be able to work quickly but also remain extremely detail-oriented, calm, and resilient in pressure situations. This role is an indispensable and in-demand member of the creative team.

This role assists the design team primarily in producing and rolling out art files after the creative direction and design has taken shape – in the form of print files, packaging mockups, advertising, point-of-purchase and digital graphics. You are detail oriented and thrive on pre-flight formatting, collecting, processing, checking and uploading files to support overall arching branding and advertising client initiatives.

Qualifications

  • – 7+ years of industry experience, large agency experience an asset
  • – Completely proficient of the latest versions of Creative Suite ( InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Adobe Acrobat
  • – Understands colour management in print and digital
  • – University degree or equivalent College diploma in Design or related field
  • – Strong production design portfolio
  • – Passion for branding art & design with an eagerness to collaborate with other creative people

 

Primary Responsibilities

Strong typographic and layout skills, strict attention to detail, and outstanding organizational, project management, file-organization and archiving skills are a must.

  • – Execution and production of print and digital assets to ensure accurate, on-time delivery within tight deadlines, applying style/brand guides and templates where applicable
  • – Scheduling and coordinating with art directors, designers and brand planners to deliver multiple requirements for multiple clients depending on daily client needs
  • – Prepare deliverables for handoff to internal client teams, external vendors or media partners
  • – Prepare final press-ready files based on supplied specifications for a variety types of printing and finishing
  • – Image retouching, clipping paths and additional image manipulation when needed
  • – Create presentations and PDFs for client review
  • – Prepare accurate physical mockups when necessary for reviews and approvals
  • – Prepare images for online and mobile applications
  • – Catalog, archive and reference art for future projects
  • – Passion for Mac Products / Environment a very strong asset
  • – Video editing and HTML/coding a strong asset
  • – Continuous self-learning and keeping up to date with relevant programs
  • – Resolve and troubleshoot any artwork or technical issues that may arise during production, including  IT issues, corrupt files, printing, server etc.

Brand Planner Intern

Concrete is looking for a marketing intern to join our team. The ideal candidate would be enrolled in or a recent grad of a post-secondary marketing or communications program and willing to commit minimum of three months full time. Typically marketing interns assist the brand planning team with research and sourcing, drafting creative briefs, project scheduling, awards submissions and support the operations of a busy creative studio.

A successful candidate for this position should be:

  • – Resourceful and self directed, able to work independently.
  • – Multi-disciplinary, with an interest in art, popular culture, branding and design.
  • – Posses strong oral and written communication skills.
  • – Client focused preferably with some customer service experience.

Junior & Intermediate Designers

Concrete is looking for talented designers to join our team. We’re looking for confident, hard working problem solvers that thrive in a collaborative environment. You are both creative and strategic, with the ability to rationalize and sell your ideas to both clients and within the studio.

We are currently interviewing for both junior and intermediate designer positions (2 to 5 years experience). Applicants should have a strong interest and/or experience with brand identity, packaging, web and interactive for national and multi-national brands.

Design Interns

We offer 12 week internships to students and recently graduated students who are enrolled in or have finished a college/university-level design stream. Applicants are expected to be comfortable with Illustrator, Indesign and Photoshop. Illustration, photography, motion and web skills are always appreciated but not necessary. Typically interns will assist designers with projects and fulfill additional responsibilities around the office. The right candidate will be resourceful, have a great attitude and passion for design.
